Laptops were created to be portable so people could carry their computer anywhere without having to haul around a huge desktop computer. The actual level of portability depends on the size and weight of the laptop. The smaller the computer, the less space available inside, which ultimately means power and functionality are comprised. The five general categories of laptops are thin and light, desktop replacements, ultra portable, net books, and luggables.
Laptop Computer Size
When pertaining to the size of a laptop, the size is determined by the external physical dimensions of the machine. Be sure to keep in mind when looking at laptops, that there are other attachments and accessories that might need to be carried along with the unit. DVD drives are not usually included with net books and many ultra portable computers also remove them in order to save space. If you decide to buy a net book or an ultra portable and you still need the DVD drive, you will most likely have to get an external driver or a docking bay. The thin and light laptops allow you to swap media bays by changing from a DVD to a spare battery. To recharge and power a laptop and any other accessories, you need to have the proper power adapters.
Every portable computer system uses three physical dimensions for their size; depth, width and thickness(height). The width of the laptop is the measurement of the left edge of the keyboard to the right edge. Depth is measured from the front of the laptop to the back panel. The height refers to the distance from the bottom of the laptop to the back of the screen.

Flock is a really awesome new browser based on Firefox, which works to integrate a lot of Web 2.0 functionality such as blogging, linkblogging, picture uploading, and eventually more. My internet friend Andy Smith works for Flock, so I try to sell it every chance I get. Besides, it’s awesome. I use it mostly because it makes it really easy to integrate Flickr photos into my blog posts. My main problem is that it uses a lot of icky-looking HTML markup, so frequently I have to go through and clean it up afterwards, replacing paragraph tags with whitespace, etc.
And yes, Rob is running a disgustingly Mac-ified version of Windows XP. Nice try, Rob, but we still know what you’re running

This was posted as a test picture. I made a small but substantial change to the Flickr-to-Twitter functionality of Twittergram this evening.
Before, in order to be able to post pictures to Twitter through the app, I had to authorize your account as a beta. Now I authorized all the pending betas and opened it up so everyone could use it. Right now there are just 91 users. I hope there’s not an explosion of new users, not sure the system can handle the load. Let’s see what happens.
